SUPERB LYREBIRD is a music project by SAYORNIS with ERICA DAL BASSA and her headmates. Our music blends improvisation with manipulation, using human vocalizations and electronic sounds produced with the SOMA LABS LYRA 8 and PIPE. ORAL TRADITION was performed over about two hours and then resequenced and layered into a loose narrative montage evoking everyday life, the arc of the seasons, and the contemplation of ancestry, death, and cosmogony.
