XIMES is a musical project of Cornwall-based producer David Wurth (Deathbird Stories, STARREKRYPT), focused primarily in the creation of densely layered psychedelic drone music with elements of freak-folk, free improvisation and new world music. Sun13 have referred to XIMES as a pioneer in UK underground experimental music, drawing favourable comparisons to Jim O’Rourke and Oren Ambarchi.

POLYHEX 3 – Modal Mountains, is the final release in a series exploring long-form drones (following on from the previous well-received volumes issued on Dub Cthonic, Magick Hands and Hallelujah Anyway). With help from Edd Sanders on Violin (Peat, Redriver Dialect, BhattSanders) and spacious Mastering by Cyril Meyyson, Modal Mountains sees Wurth pushing his sound out even further into the stratosphere, bringing a very satisfying close to this extraordinary trilogy of experimental releases.
